This week, Tyler and fellow novelist and University of Gloucestershire colleague D.D. Johnston will be appearing on the opening night of the Cheltenham Poetry Festival. The pair will be bravely reading some of their fledgeling poetry efforts (both, oddly enough, have written sports poems) as well as discussing links between the genres, and exploring the theme of 'interviews' in their work. You can pick up tickets from Ticket Source. The event takes place on Thursday night at Smokey Joe's retro cafe and bar in Cheltenham; doors open at 6.30, and the event kicks off at 7. Hope to see you there!

We admit it: we at Tyler's publicity team have been somewhat slack of late, and have a few posts to catch up on. Firstly, Tyler recently presented at the annual NAWE Conference. He teamed up with his comrades novelist D.D. Johnston and dramaturge Lucy Tyler, to deliver a joint paper on Writing and Resisting Work in an Employability Focused Higher Education System. Apparently the topic was more exciting than it sounds, and by all accounts their provocative presentation went down well: there is now even talk of taking it further, to other conferences, publication, and beyond. If so, we hope us hard working publicists are invited along for the fun.
