Tyler Keevil's Writing Room

'Memory is the way we keep telling ourselves our stories - and telling other people a somewhat different version of our stories.' - Alice Munro

Tyler Keevil is an award-winning writer from Vancouver who now lives in Wales.  His most recent novel is the literary thriller Your Still Beating Heart.

'The Weeds and The Wildness' to be published in Strangers Among Us Anthology

We at Tyler's publicity team recently received the proofs and cover for Strangers Among Us: Tales of the Underdogs and Outcasts, an anthology of speculative fiction due out in August from Laksa Media Group.  The book adopts the tagline 'an anthology with a cause' and has an admirable aim: the theme is mental health and a portion of its revenue will go towards the Canadian Mental Health Assocation.  As the cover blurb puts it:

Nineteen science fiction and fantasy authors tackle the division between mental health and mental illness; how the interplay between our minds’ quirks and the diverse societies and cultures we live in can set us apart, or must be concealed, or become unlikely strengths.

Tyler's contribution is the story 'The Weeds and the Wildness': a retro piece of spec fic that involves a menacing landscaping company, and the effects its activities have on its clientele.  The book will be available through Amazon and all major bookstores in Canada by August.  For now, here's a teaser of the cover, with a quote courtesy of SF legend Robert Sawyer:
